The Renner Elementary School guidance program provides students comprehensive guidance focused on academic, personal/social, and career development within a Positive Behavior Supports environment of PRIDE (Positive, Respectful, In-Control, and Determined Everyday) to prepare sstudents for success in life.
Renner Elementary School Counselor Goals
The Renner school counseling program will focus on academic development, career development, and personal/social development through guidance curriculum, small-group, and individual plans for success.
Program Goal Statements
1. Academic Development
Students will acquire the academic preparation essential for college and career readiness. Each Renner student will have 12-15 thirty minute guidance lessons based upon the Second Step-Skills for Social and Academic Success curriculum focused on learning, empathy, emotion management and problem solving.
2. Career Development
Students will investigate the world of work for college and career readiness through Missouri Connections career lessons, an annual Careers on Wheels Career Day, as well as monthly Career Connections.
3. Personal/Social Development
Students will acquire an understanding of respect for self and others and the skills to be responsible citizens through Renner PRIDE (school wide Positive Behavior Supports), Second Step guidance lessons, small group social skills, as well as individual plans for success.
